UBIQUITOUS ITS R&D PROJECT

To make road environment safer, more efficient, and more convenient, it is necessary to integrate advancement of vehicle, road, and telecommunication. Seven companies cooperated and started R&D project named Ubiquitous ITS last year funded by NICT, National Institute of Information and Communications Technology. The project is a three-year-project and consists of three themes that are the study of vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-roadside communications, the study of telematics, and the study of distributing road traffic information via digital terrestrial broadcasting. This paper explains the contents and the progress that has been done in the first year of the project. For the covering abstract see E134653.
