THE ENTROPY FUNCTION IN URBAN PLANNING

The concept of entropy is still mentioned in urban planning literature. This article attempts to explain the entropy function and the use of the function in the development of a spatial interaction model, used in urban planning. In the application of this method, a specific behaviour of the individual participant is incorporated. A few examples illustrate the usefulness of the entropy function method. /TRRL/
