SOIL REINFORCING AND STABILISING TECHNIQUES IN ENGINEERING PRACTICE. SYMPOSIUM. SYDNEY, OCTOBER 16-19, 1978. PROCEEDINGS

The symposium was organised jointly by the New South Wales Institute of Technology and the Unviersity of New South Wales. Stabilization techniques are summarised and the key-note address discusses history, current and future developments of reinforced earth. Other papers cover triaxial tests on reinforced sand, aspects of behaviour of reinforced earth, stresses and deformation of reinforced layer systems, analysis of a rubber membrane strip reinforced earth wall and model simulation of reinforced earth walls. A keynote address on reinforced earth precedes papers on different types of reinforcement, including woody vegetation, fabric reinforcement, ribbed and smooth reinforcing strips and different methods of stabilization including chemical stabilization, electroosmosis, grouting, use of lime and lime-fly ash slurry, and vibrocompaction. /TRRL/
