RADIATING CABLES FOR RITA. AN ASSESSMENT OF THE CHARACTERISTICS OF RADIATING CABLES AS A MEDIUM FOR TRANSMISSION OF RADIO MESSAGES TO RADIO RECEIVERS MOUNTED IN CARS TRAVELLING ON MAIN ROADS. FINAL REPORT - PART 2: SUPPORTING DATA

The second part of the report covers work carried out by TRRL in conjunction with stl to show the feasibility of using radiating cables in rita (road information transmitted aurally) applications. This part of the report provides supporting data covering specific aspects in more detail than found in Part 1. The following aspects are detailed: hardware and measurement techniques; preliminary motorway tests; tests on cables not specifically designed for radiation; tests on "radiating cables"; some system considerations; mathematical models; and, low frequency behaviour. /TRRL/
