THE DESCRIPTION OF THE STIRLING CYCLE IN A VECTOR DIAGRAM

Vector diagrams can give a better understanding of amplitude and phase relationships between the fundamental harmonic variation of volumes, gas displacements, fluid flows and of the presure in stirling cycle machines. The concept of a modified machine is introduced to derive simplified equations for the efficiency, power and for a similar vector representation of a stirling engine with adiabatic cylinders. /SAE/
