ORGANIZATIONAL STUDY OF THE KANSAS CORPORATION COMMISSION, STATE OF KANSAS, TOPEKA, KANSAS

The report contains three major parts: management summary, findings and recommendations and data processing summary. The objectives of the study were to evaluate the organization and internal operations of the Commission, and to develop recommendations for improvements. The significant improvements can be made in organization and methods that, when implemented, should assist the Commission and its personnel materially in meeting their regulatory objectives effectively. The Kansas Corporation Commission consists of four divisions regulating the state's utilities and transportation companies. Changes have occurred in the utilities industry in recent years, and computers have become commonplace.
