MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, RESEARCH ENGINEERING DIVISION 1977 ACTIVITIES HIGHLIGHTS REPORT
Six research projects being conducted by the Mechanical Engineering Dept. of LLL are discussed. The subjects covered include the use of solar collectors for producing process heat; irrigation pumping using shallow solar ponds; development of geothermal resources; ceramic expansion engines; and alternative propulsion systems for highway vehicles in order to reduce fossil-fuel consumption. A separate abstract was prepared for each paper.
