ALTERNATIVE WORK SCHEDULES. PART 1: FLEXITIME
Flexible working hours, or flexitime, is a new and growing alternative work schedule. Under flexitime, employees may vary their starting and stopping times within limits while they work the contracted number of hours in a specified time period. They may, for example, come to work anytime between 7:00 and 9:30 a.m. and leave anytime between 4:00 and 6:30 p.m. according to their choice, as long as they work eight hours a day -- 40 hours a week.
