Crucial breakdown repairs at DB Netz AG
Breakdown repair management at DB Netz AG in Germany was reorganised in 2006. The breakdown repair management in the rail network takes place in seven working areas coordinated in a network control centre in Frankfurt. Faults are allocated to seven priorities for organisation. In busy areas breakdown repair personnel are available continuously and are required to meet an intervention time of 30-60 minutes. In less busy areas, shift operations or call-outs are operated. The breakdown repair of the contact line appliances of DB Netz AG is carried out with 36 fixed TVT locations. Breakdown repair material is made available according to the likelihood of failure in the maintenance areas. Over 99% of faults are independently rectified by the specialist teams involved. The development of breakdown repair management is continuously monitored and checked for effectiveness.
