150 Years of Railway Publishing
In this "North American Viewpoint," the editor of "Railway Age" reviews the century and a half of railway news coverage by his publication and its predecessors, "The Railroad Gazette" and "The Western Railroad Gazette." The publication's history, including publishers, influence in challenges faced by the United States' railway industry, and its unique relationship to "International Railway Journal," are examined. "Railway Age" 150th anniversary celebrations included running the "Sesquicentennial Limited" excursion train to Bay Head from New Jersey Transit's Hoboken Terminal.
