Developing an International Interface for Innovation: A Profile of the European Conference of Transport Research Institutes

The European Conference of Transport Research Institutes (ECTRI) coordinates transportation research within the European Union; fosters cooperation with international counterparts, such as the Transportation Research Board (TRB); provides advice to European Union policy makers; promotes technology transfer; and establishes research networks. In this article, two leaders describe the impressive progress made in the first years of the organization's work.
