A Chemical Image Analysis Procedure as a Method for a Quantitative Modal Analysis of Clinker Materials
The mineralogical composition of clinkers as well as other related materials can be performed successfully by backscatter SEM employing chemical image analysis techniques. Segmentation based on gray level only is not sufficient for this purpose. The chemical image analysis illustrated here appears as a useful method for mineralogical and feature analysis determination. This analysis provides accurate data concerning the distribution of major as well as minor phases.
