Power Matching Approach for GPS Coverage Extension
In this paper, the authors propose a power matching approach for extending Global Positioning System (GPS) coverage in an urban area. The approach involves an algorithm which is used for correlating the received power from different GPS satellite vehicles (SVs). This in turn leads to a specific signature of the received power from the SVs, which then allows for recovery of the the receiver's location. Using this power matching approach can reduce the need for integration with other external sensors.
