Weather forecasting for roadmarkers: a New Zealand case study
This paper describes how MetService worked with representatives of the New Zealand (and Australian) roadmarking industry to bring to market what is believed to be a world-first roadmarking weather forecast service. This industry-specific forecast is generated from the combination of mathematical algorithms, meteorological modelling and industry information. The resultant operational tool has been very well received in New Zealand and has revolutionised the way roadmarkers make use of information to plan their day to day work loads.
