Interorganizational Time-Based Postponement in the Supply Chain
The authors discuss results on empirical research, using data collected from a retailer, a distributor, and two manufacturers, on supply chain context time-based postponement use. The authors argue that firm level postponement implementation can result in more inventory being carried by the supply chain. Implementation needs to be across supply chain organizations in order to achieve postponement's full potential.
