The Research on Optimal Green Time for Intersection Groups
This paper, presented at the 6th International Conference on Intelligent Systems Design and Applications (Jinan, China, 2006) presents an adaptive traffic signal control algorithm for a single intersection. This algorithm can be used to determine the best green light timing for each phase under any fixed cycle time. The algorithm is designed to minimize vehicle delay. The authors extend this algorithm method to the line control. Performance of the algorithm is proven to improve the intersection capacity by reducing the delay time of vehicles, using data from the Yunnan Province. The authors contend that their method is practical and feasible.
