Net Benefit: Web Tool Allows Contractor to Make Right Decisions
This article describes a new web tool, BCA.net, developed by the Federal Highway Administration that should help transportation agencies make more cost-effective decisions about highway projects. It will allow decision makers to compare expected performance of a project to alternatives in order to determine which will provide the most return on taxpayer dollars. It also can help agencies plan for the best timing of a project and evaluate lane capacity and other improvements. The article describes the types of data BCA.net uses, and how agencies use the tool.
