2007 CEMEX U.S. Building Awards
The article presents a list of the 20 finalists in four categories in CEMEX, Inc.'s 2nd Annual U.S. Building Awards. Cutting edge, environmentally friendly structures in the categories of Infrastructure, Institutional/Industrial, Housing, and Sustainability were recognized. All entries made use of concrete and recycled products. In the Infrastructure category, finalists included: Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport Runway Replacement in Atlanta, Georgia; New Carquinez Bridge in Vallejo and Crockett, California; Katy Freeway Expansion in Houston, Texas; and Lee Roy Selmon Crosstown Expressway in Tampa, Florida.
