PROGRESS IN BUILDING HIGH-POWER TWO-STROKE CROSSHEAD DIESEL ENGINES

This paper reports on the effects of inertia and gas forces and the influence of the hull on the redesigned structural components of the KSZ-B engines. It touches on the question of deformations permissible in a large-bore diesel engine. The subjects associated with the application of high thermal and mechanical stresses to combustion chamber components are treated in the description of the piston in conjunction with the demand for sufficient fatigue strength.
