Seismic Standard
The authors discuss new bridge construction over a riverbed in a highly seismic region in northern Italy. Tolmezzo, a strong 1977 earthquake's epicenter, is close by the new structure, as is Pordenone-Friuli. Seismic design, modeling, and testing considerations for the bridge, needed for year round access across the riverbed, are discussed in full, including adherence to new Italian seismic regulation Ordinanza 3274 and its revisions.
