Dare to Dream: Projects that Are Innovative Should Also Attempt to be Daring
The author discusses using innovative and daring design in small to medium span urban bridge construction, which is possible if conventional methods are used. Discussion of unique design and construction challenges presented by the Abetxuko Bridge over Vitoria, Spain's Zadorra River, central to an area regeneration plan, dominates the article. Accommodation of both pedestrian and motor traffic is taken into account. Photographs complement the text.
