DCVs for DXB & TLS

AB The director of airport systems for Alstef, a French company, describes its destination coded vehicle (DCV) baggage handling system, which has been recently ordered by the Emirates Airlines for its crewmembers’ luggage. The system will eventually be able to accommodate about 40 flights per hour. The article explains in detail how the system was developed and how it operates. He reports that the system can handle 1,600 bags per hour at Toulouse-Blagnac airport, and the benefits of the system include better security, reduced transit times, effectiveness even if there is one cart that fails, the ability to add extra carts instantly to increase capacity, and reduced possibilities for luggage to be lost.
