Green purchase system for road projects in Japan
The Japanese Government introduced a Green Purchase System in 2001. The purpose of this system is to promote the spread of eco-friendly goods through the priority purchase of eco-friendly goods by the government. Articles given preferential consideration by the government are called designated procurement items. This paper presents the selection criteria for the designated procurement items that qualify for use in public works projects. Furthermore, all the lists of the designated procurement items in public works projects specified herein are introduced to the public.
