THE HYDRAULICALLY EFFECTIVE IMPERVIOUS AREA OF AN URBAN BASIN, BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA

The hydraulically effective impervious are for the basin of a transportation site in Broward County, Florida, was determined to be 18 percent of the total area of the basin. This determination was made by utilizing a sewerage map, a topographic map (1-foot contour interval), and a photomosaic of the basin. This 18 percent figure had limited verification by relating runoff to rainfall for the basin; the slope of this relation was 18 percent for storms with rainfall depths as much as 1.5 inches. /Author/
