Fraport in 2007
The growth and versatility of Fraport AG, operators of Frankfurt Airport (FRA) since 1924, is the focus of this article. Since it became a publicly traded company on the Frankfurt stock exchange (in 2001), Fraport AG has been seen as a leader in providing integrated airport services. The article details the rise of Fraport AG over its more than 80-year history, corresponding with the growth of FRA into an important international hub. At FRA and airports worldwide, Fraport AG and its subsidiary companies offer a full range of services, including planning, design, operational, commercial, and management services. For major airlines, Fraport AG serves as a neutral partner in providing aircraft, cargo, passenger, and ground handling services. Also discussed are Future plans for Fraport AG, including the Euros3.4 billion Airport Expansion Plan (AEA) for FRA. Scheduled for full implementation by 2015, AEA is designed to allow FRA to serve more than 80 million passengers annually.
