Prague Meeting Reviews Steel Projects
At the end of May, the sixth international symposium on steel bridges was held in Prague, Czech Republic. Construction progress on some of the world's longest bridges, as well as erection, fabrication, new design technology, and new design procedures were reviewed in depth. Projects discussed include the Messina Straits project, with discussion of its dead load, which its cables contribute half of. Progress on several Chinese bridges, including the Chaotianmen Bridge, Sutong Bridge, and Xihoumen suspension bridge, is also discussed.
