The problem of calibration of gravity and more general trip interchange models by estimating travel time factors to fit a frequency distribution of travel times or costs is solved by mathematical programming methods leading to efficient computational algorithms which are capable of exactly accommodating a variety of constraints. This result is extended for calibration to fit the trip volume interchange matrix. /Author/TRRL/
