Development of a Biofidelic Flexible Pedestrian Legform Impactor
This paper describes the results of biofidelity evaluation for the leg, thigh, and knee joint of the Biofidelic Flexible Pedestrian Legform Impactor (Flex-PLI) and reports on the detailed measurement systems and specifications of the Flex-PLI. The Flex-PLI simulates human knee joint stiffness and human bone flexibility correctly. The Flex-PLI is developed in this study, as an aid in the assessment of vehicle measures used to protect the lower extremities of pedestrians during a pedestrian accident.
