Smart Data: GIS Software Continues to be Deployed in More and More Systems for Data Display, Management and Intuitive Interaction
This article looks at GIS information systems and how they are receiving more usage in data storage, management, and manipulation applications. Functions can range from street works and lighting to highway maintenance and pavement, with the information being delivered in a map-based format. A number of products are profiled that offer capabilities such as tracking and asset management, as well as those systems which allow data to be overlaid, layered and synchronized using computer aided design (CAD) systems.
