Kansas Department of Transportation Perspective
The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) initiated the performance measures process more than a year ago and has used a very inclusive process to develop draft measures. KDOT is currently presenting the draft measures to the review board (made up of the executive staff) for adoption in a year or so and is in the process of presenting them to senior management for adoption. Measures are being developed in each of six strategic areas including: pavement preservation and maintenance; safety; program and project delivery; economic impact; system modernization; and workforce priorities.
