STATE OF THE ART OF THE DRIVING TECHNOLOGY FOR ELECTROMAGNETIC LEVITATION (MAGLEV) VEHICLES

STAND DER ANTRIEBSTECHNIK BEIN EMS-FAHRZEUGEN

For high-speed traffic systems with electromagnectic levitation linear motors are especially suitable as drives. Possible variants are discussed with regard to design and their advantages and disadvantages. The asynchronous short stator two-cam motor and the iron clad synchronous long stator motor are qualified for the driving of MAGLEV vehicles. Advantages and disadvantages of these two variants are to be considered for each individual application.
