2003 Lincoln Navigator/1996 Dodge Neon Head-On Crash Test
This report details a 48.3 km/hr, 0% offset, 0 degree vehicle-to-vehicle impact test conducted for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Vehicle Research Test Center by Transportation Research Center, Incorporated. The aim was to evaluate the aggressiveness of the bullet vehicle, a 2003 Lincoln Navigator MPV, and the vehicle and occupant response of the target vehicle, a 1996 Dodge Neon 4-door sedan, in this vehicle-to-vehicle impact mode. Results indicate that the Neon sustained 929 mm of static crush, while the Navigator sustained 505 mm of static crush. Other findings are also reported and discussed.
