IMMPDAF Approach for Road-Boundary Tracking

This paper focuses on road boundary tracking using curbs. It describes how a vehicle-mounted 2-D laser measurement system is using for detecting the curbs. An interacting-multiple-model probabilistic-data-association filter (IMMPDAF) is used for solving difficult tracking problem resulting from vehicle and target movements. A sequential-probability-ratio test is used for track initiation, confirmation, and deletion. Simulations and experimentation show that using the IMMPDAF results in feasible and robust road boundary tracking.
