ABSOLUTE AND RELATIVE DIMENSIONS OF ROAD ACCIDENTS INVOLVING CHILDREN

DE ABSOLUTE EN RELATIEVE GROOTIE VAN HET AANTAL VERKEERSONGEVALLEN MET KINDEREN

The paper contains a detailed study of data on road accidents in which children are killed and/or injured. Very few details have previously been recorded, especially concerning injured children, and more studies are necessary. The author gives details of age and method of travel of injured children, and trends in the period 1972-75. These data are specified according to location of injury. It is concluded that while a child grows in due course to be a safer pedestrian, the risk of his being involved in road accidents increases overall. /TRRL/
