A REFINED THEORY OF ANISOTROPIC SHELLS
The report describes the construction of a new refined theory of anisotropic shells not involving the widely held assumption that the normal displacement is independent of the coordinate of the normal to the middle surface. It is shown that, in contrast to all other refined theories of the class considered, the proposed geometrical model of shell deformation is such that all the displacement components at a given point on the shell depend nonlinearly on the above mentioned coordinate.(Author)
