The article describes a repaving machine developed by Colas (UK) designed to resurface an asphalt surface by reusing existing surface materials. The machine is designed to operate at widths up to 3.80 M at speeds between 2.5 - 7.5 m/min. Radiant heaters soften the existing asphalt surface which is then scarified, reshaped and a layer of new asphalt mix material bonded to the old surface. Typical overlays range from 30-60 kg/sq m. Examples are given of the use of the repaving machine on resurfacing projects in the United Kingdom. /TRRL/
