In order to check the validity of palmgren-miner's rule for plain concrete subjected to varying repetitive compressive stresses centric compression tests were carried out with cylindrical concrete specimens. In the first series of tests the influence of the concrete quality, age, hardening and testing conditions and the frequency of stress changes was examined. In the second series of tests the loading programme was varied. The conclusions drawn from the test results are mentioned. Some structural safety aspects are discussed. /TRRL/
