THE IMPACT OF E-COMMERCE ON TRANSPORT IN EUROPE
This paper describes the approach and results of a TNO Inro Project for the European Parliament's Committee on Regional Policy - Transport and Tourism. The objective of the project was to formulate a basis for transport policy on the basis of the most reliable forecasts possible on the growth of e-commerce induced freight traffic in the medium term. The main goal of this paper is to provide policy makers both an overview on the present status of these forecasts and a synthesis of feasible policy instruments.
