Fuzzy Sets Theory Approach to Transportation Problems
This paper examines several topics with the purpose of providing an introduction to the application of fuzzy sets theory to transportation problems. First, it examines the nature of the transportation problems and identifies the need for a new paradigm to deal with the complexity of these problems. Second, it introduces the basics of fuzzy sets theory. Third, it explores the possible general application areas for fuzzy sets theory, as well as specific transportation applications.
