A STUDY OF THE ECONOMICS OF ROAD VEHICLE LIMITS; PERFORMANCE AND OPERATIONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF COMMERCIAL VEHICLES

This report presents the methodology and models used in the study - (a) to identify the magnitude and distribution between roads of the road freight transport task; (b) to predict the effects of changes in vehicle mass and dimension limits on the characteristics of vehicles carrying out the road freight transport task; and (C) to estimate the relationships between the costs of road haulage and the mass characteristics of commercial vehicles. /Author/TRRL/
