Investigation of Road Accidents on Lithuanian State Roads
This paper focuses on the need for a comprehensive road accident investigation system in Lithuania. It relates that road accident investigations should be designed to evaluate the three stages of a collision: before, during and after. The different objects of an investigation, along with an investigation schedule, need to be established, along with specific procedures that are to be conducted a the scene of an accident. Different types of accident categories need to be established as components of the accident investigation. This should ultimately lead to preventive and improvement measures geared at reducing road accidents.
