MEDICAL/PSYCHOLOGICAL CAR DRIVER APTITUDE TESTS FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF THE SUBJECTS OF THE EXPERIMENTS

DIE SITUATION DER MEDIZINISCH-PSYCHOLOGISCHEN KRAFTFAHRER-EIGNUNGSUNTERSUCHUNG AUS DER SICHT DER PROBANDEN

The examiner should be aware of fear experienced by the subjects prior to a medical and psychological driving aptitude test. If this fear is taken into account, the defences of the subjects can be broken down, test results more accurately interpreted and instructive results achieved which can make the subject aware of his particular problems. A questionnaire completed by 113 subjects in the medical-psychological institute of the TUEV in Berlin indicated that after the test had been carried out the majority of subjects had formed a positive opinion of it. The "intimate sphere" was considered to have been encroached upon by only 1% (from the medical point of view) and 3% (from the psychological point of view). The experts were mainly described as friendly. 75% of the subjects stated that the test had provided them with information and insights which could positively affect their future behaviour as drivers. /TRRL/
