Driving: Through the Eyes of Teens
This report presents a study that provides information on the ways in which teenage drivers perceive driving and the role it plays in their lives. The National Young Driver Survey was administered in 2006 to find out about high school students' experiences of driving and their perceptions about driving. Some factors touched on in the report include how teenage drivers report risky distractions (including loud music, cell phone use, and intense emotions), how teenagers perceive the role and influence of parents, and what risky behaviors (drowsy driving, drunk driving, speeding) teenage drivers observe in their peers.
