DRIVER FATIGUE. RESEARCH FILES

LA FATIGUE DU CONDUCTEUR

The effects of driver fatigue are often cited as one of the causes of accidents, especially accidents occurring at night. This report reviews the studies carried out on the subject. Part 2 deals with the evolution in vigilance of the driver during the driving period up to 7 o'clock. From 1967 encephalographs were recorded on drivers driving under real conditions, and it was observed that a deterioration occurred at the level of the nervous central parameters (encephalographs, blinking, electrocardiographs, psycho-galvanic skin response) due to the monotony of the driving task. A large bibliography is appended. /TRRL/
