DESIGN OF AUTOPILOTS BY STATE FEEDBACK

AUSLEGUNG VON AUTOPILOTEN DURCH ZUSTANDSRUECKFUEHRUNG

The exceptionally high requirements with respect to safety and precision for flight control systems, have to be maintained also for the future noise-reducing steep take-offs. For this task, a new concept of a flight controller was developed at the Bodenseewerk and checked in flight tests. Using the example of this autopilot, problems are discussed, which occur in consistent application of complete state feedback. Besides the economic realization, the main effort is directed at the limitation of the states to be fed back, the open-loop control, disturbance compensation, and a combined design with pole assignment and cost function. Besides control accuracy, flight operational and psychological points of view are also important for the choice of the cost criterion.
