Unbalanced Information Display for Urban Parking Guidance
Providing parking guidance information is bale to optimize driver's travel course. However, providing same information to all drivers might cause congestion because individual driver tends to believe the same information. From the global optimization perspective of view, providing specific information to different drivers, within in different areas, is a better alternative. This paper presents an approach for parking pre-dispatch based on unbalanced information. Un-balanced information approach refers to display different guidance information about the same parking lot on the spatial different Variable Message Sign (VMS) induction screens. This yields drivers in different areas obtain different guidance information about the same parking lot. The pre-dispatch model showed with un-balanced information is found to be advantageous over traditional method. This proposed approach can regulate and control the whole static traffic, direct the drivers to choose the parking lots dispersedly, exert the guidance effect before parking, increase the acceptance probability of the parking spaces and avoid appearing the Brass.
