WORLD AIRLINE SAFETY

National records are examined for the years 1973 to 1978 and each country is ranked according to four safety criteria giving special weight to crashes per million flights. Data on accidents involving passengers and crew, of public transport aircraft (including scheduled helicopters), scheduled and non-scheduled on revenue passenger or cargo flights are tabulated. Activity and accident data are presented for Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Columbia, Egypt, France, West Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Scandinavia, Turkey, U.K., U.S.A., and Venezuela.
