Determinants of Port Competitiveness in the Mediterranean: A Conceptual Framework
The paper examines recent developments in seaborn traffic within the Mediterranean basin focusing on maritime transport chains and ports. A conceptual framework is presented for the discussion of the determinants of port and logistic cluster competition in the Mediterranean. Some conclusions are presented, drawing also on a comparison between the ports of Gioia Tauro, Valencia and Rotterdam.
