CRACKING OF IN SITU CONNECTIONS IN PRESTRESSED CONCRETE MULTIBEAM BRIDGES

This paper presents the finite strip analysis of multibeam bridges with cracked in situ transverse connections. Model test results and a case study show that cracking of in situ connections generally leads to a deterioration of the load and stress distribution behavior of multibeam structures. To guide designers, recommendations are given for the satisfactory finite strip simulations of several types of miltibeam bridges.
