WHOLE BODY VIBRATIONS - CASE STUDY

HELKROPPSVIBRATIONER - PRAKTIKFALL

The purpose of these vibration studies is: (1) to investigate where there are vibration problems, (2) to investigate the nature of vibrations and the effect on drivers and operators and (3) to give examples of possibilities of reducing exposure of drivers to vibrations. The driver exposure to vibrations was studied by measuring the acceleration in three perpendicular planes on the seat. The following vehicles were investigated: forest machinery, mining equipment, fork-lift trucks, lorries, cleansing and ploughing machinery. For each vehicle the acceleration was related to the vibration frequency. Furthermore, driver seats and improvements of the vehicles from the point of view of vibrations are discussed together with driver experience of vibrations. /TRRL/
